Easter in paradise!

Who wouldn't want to wake up to this on a long weekend?! Amazing right? This post is a little late but I've been busy! Easter weekend in Bermuda was so fun! The weather was perfect {as usual}, the water was warm{ish} and the drinks were cold! Good Friday in Bermuda is always a big deal with a Kite Festival on Horseshoe Bay Beach! Endless dark and Stormys' and and fish sandwiches! We were able to cook a somewhat traditional Easter meal on Sunday and just enjoy having 4 full days together! Oh and we also stayed at the Fairmont Hamilton Princess for a night and had expensive martinis! Here are a few more snaps from the weekend!*

Nude Lacquer for Spring

I have been on the hunt for the perfect nude nail polish for awhile....some are too dark for my skin tone some are too light. It's hard to find the perfect colour! After many {failed} attempts I think I have finally found a few choices that I think will work! Last week Shoppers Drug Mart had a buy 1 get 1 free nail polish special so I invested in Essie Topless & Barefoot and Sally Hansen Salon Manicure Pink Slip....so far so good! I have heard rave reviews about Topless & Barefoot  so I was super excited to try it out...as well as Ballerina Slippers {which is always sold out}!  Sometimes you just want something subtle on your nails! What are your favorite nude colours? What ones do you recommend?!*

Healthy Mind & Body

I mentioned in an earlier post that I have been experiencing some major anxiety and stress lately. I know this is directly related to the major change in my life {my boyfriend moving away}, but it was so crazy how quickly and how extreme this hit me. It was terrifying, I felt paralyzed to the point where I couldn't leave my apartment to do everyday things like go to the grocery store. With help from some natural supplements, rescue remedy (more on these later) and yoga I was able to change my life around in what seemed like a week!   I never took to yoga the times I'd tried it, I thought it was boring. I really enjoy high intensity cardio classes, spinning and aerobics. But every doctor, friend and anxiety blog advised that yoga and learning to breath properly is a great stress released and form of coping, so I gave it a try.

After a few at home youtube yoga sessions I joined my friend at her studio for an actual intense yoga practise and fell in love at how great I instantly felt.  The mat is such comfortable, non judgemental and stress free place for me on days I feel overwhelmed and on the brink of an anxiety attack. I can't tell you how quickly my attitude and mood changed.  Maybe my time to discover the benefits of yoga  are at this stressful time in my life, and I'm so thankful I did!

Do you turn to yoga or exercise for stress and anxiety relief ?   What works for you ?

Happy Easter everyone,  I'm off to Bermuda for 5 days on the beach!!!*

the perfect beach bag

the perfect beach bag

I always have such a difficult time finding a beach bag. I never want to spend too much on it, because I can't justify it's based on what it used for! I want something stylish enough to be able to tote around on the plane or even on day trips. It's such a difficult purchase for me, I really have a difficult time with it! I usually end up taking my free Victoria Secret totes {womp womp}! What's your beach bag requirements? Where did you find yours? HELP!*

a little trip to Bermuda

As I mentioned my boyfriend is currently living in working in Bermuda for 3 months....it's bitter sweet of course! He's gone but I get to visit FOR FREE!  My last trip was only for 30 hours but it was so much fun! Bermuda is beautiful and only 2 hours from Toronto!!! My next trip {at Easter} is for 5 days which I am so excited for! Here are a few snaps from my quick little visit!*

MEXICO!!

Once the temperatures hit -45 in Toronto this winter we decided we need to get to the sun. I've always wanted to go to Mexico so we booked a trip to the Mayan Riviera for a week of relaxation and warmth! We chose to stay at the Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya Hotel and Spa it was beautiful! The resort itself is technically two resorts in one. There is no difference between the two, you can use all the amenities and there really was no separation other than two of everything....which was nice for a change of scenery every now and then. I have NO complaints about this resort and would 100% visit again! Here are a "few" snap shots!

life got the best of me...

April already, time really flies by when life gets the best of you. I can't tell you how many times I logged in to create a blog post and just felt uninspired. I didn't know what to say that would be of interest to anyone, so I just ignored it. Thinking about it I've realized that for me, blogging doesn't necessarily need inspiration it's more of a way to escape the everyday madness and talk about things that I love and that interest me.

Recently my boyfriend moved to Bermuda for a work contract, just for 3 months. But this is the longest we have ever been apart and I was finding it very hard to cope. I developed anxiety and stress out of nowhere and it really started to consume my life. I've made a promise to myself that as part of my coping and healing process I'm going to try to blog once a day if not every other day as a way to take my mind off everything around me that's causing me stress! I use to blog everyday and I want to get back into that routine! Time to give this another try!*
