Friday Favorites!

HAPPY FRIDAY! And to all my fellow Canadians...Happy Canada Day Weekend!!  This will be our 2nd Canada Day in Calgary, and I must say....it's so different from the Canada Day's we're use to in Port Dover or 'up north' cottaging in Ontario.  Holidays like this really make me home sick....BUT...my friends arrive on Tuesday next week for Stampede...so hopefully I don't get too homesick!  For now...here are a few of my favorite things from the past week!  I hope you all have an amazing Canada Day....!*

I recently got a shellac mani and pedi...{and by recently I mean 3 weeks ago} and I LOVE it! I will NEVER get regular nail polish again! I have painted and cleaned my whole apartment, moved apartments, and have gone about my day to day chores and they have NOT chipped...there is just natural nail growth...! Amazing!  I highly recommend, especially for your fingers that not allow nail polish to stay on for more than 3 days MAX!

I know it's Friday, but I really want to post some iphone pictures I took last weekend when my friends were visiting from Ontario! We went to some awesome restaurants we haven't been to yet, went to Banff and Canmore on some hikes and saw some amazing wildlife...including BEARS!*

it's STAMPEDE time!

Well...it's ALMOST that time of year here in Calgary! This year marks the 100th Stampede, and it's going to be INSANE!  The city is already buzzing...plans are being made and plaid is being bought! I'm so excited because my sister and 3 of my best friends are flying out for 4 days of non stop two-stepping, rodeos and country music! It's going to be crazy! Below are two outfit ideas. I love paring a light white summer dress with a denim jacket and boot for night time, and of course, jean shorts, plaid and a hat for day time antics! Are any of you coming to the Stampede this year?!*

Wedding Fever: A dress was Chosen!

Back in January I posted about Jon's cousin's wedding {here} that we are going to in PEI this summer, and my options for a dress...! Since I've never been to a wedding {I know...I know} I wanted to get something to making it amazing for me! While I was in Hamilton back in May, I was out shopping with my mom and sister and saw this beautiful purple mullet dress by BCBG and I fell in love. I had to have it....! I drove from Hamilton - Toronto and called every store from Calgary - Edmonton - Vancouver looking for this dress in my size....! I was beginning to think that this dress wasn't even made in a small and was about to settle for a dress that was obviously too big.....{or buy it off Ebay} BUT....one day randomly on my lunch break, I wandered over to the mall just to SEE if MAYBE by CHANCE they had it in my size.....and....low and behold...IT WAS THERE....IN A SMALL and the very LAST dress in the store! I DIED!

I LOVE how flowy the back is, it's so light and summery!  I plan on pairing it was a big gold necklace and strappy gold heels!  I still have to purchase those! And time is running out! {I only have 2 weeks until the wedding} But I'm so relieved that I found the dress I love!!!*

Life Lately! We Moved!!

Moving is the worst! We literally lived in not so organized {I tried} chaos for the past 2 weeks....but this past weekend we officially moved into our amazing new apartment!  And the progress we have made getting everything put away and set up is pretty impressive!  The day we moved, we rented a U-Haul {which are horrifying to drive} and went straight to IKEA and picked up our new couch which I'm totally in love with {photos below}!  Needless to say, I am happy we are out of our OLD apartment and settling in just in time for family and friends visiting and the summer!*

Recent Purchase: MK Wedges

Wow! It's been awhile since I've posted....but we are in the process of moving so everything is in total chaos right now! BUT I did get to the mall on Friday night with my friend Tamara, and I found these amazing Michael Kors wedges. I originally saw them on a sales girl at Artizia and immediately went to the MK Store to purchase! After thinking it through during the weekend {we need to buy a new couch so I was second guessing myself} I went back on Sunday and picked them up and do not regret it at all! They are super comfortable which always a plus, and they were on sale the day I went back!*
