..White Girl Problems

So recently one of my good friends turned me onto a blog called White Girl Problems by Babe Walker{and by recently I mean yesterday}, and I have already read  her whole year worth of posts! Babe Walker is this mysterious blogger/author who entered the blogging/writting scene about a year ago, and noone actually knows who she is or what she looks like... the only photo is of the back of her head! {google her...theres NO pictures!}. But she has become widley popular! Her writting and commentary are hystraical, whitty, catty, blunt and amazing! In some sort of way...she's kind of like a real life gossip girl...! Instead of posting gossip, she posts histarical comments and responses to readers e-mails and frequently talks about her posh and chic socalite lifestyle! The book went on sale today at bookstorse and online; you can get it here, here and here!  I went on my lunch break to purchase it...only realizing at the cash that I had left my debit card at home *oops*, but I plan on making the purchase tomorrow! Have you read White Girl Problems?  Did you buy the book today?!*

..the weekend in photos

I hope you all had wild weekend! It went by way too quickly...{as usual} This weekend was pretty laid back....a bunch of movie watching....cleaning {Jon's mom is visiting from Ontario this week!}....cooking and shopping! Here's a few shots of my weekend!*

Friday Favorites*

It's FINALLY Friday....I don't know about you but this week went by way too slow...! Here are my 5 favorite things I saw/purchased/did this week! How was your work week? Did it also go by super slow?!*

Thursday morning when I went to use my bronzer....it had shattered into a million tiny pieces {so frustrating} So I've decided to take this opportunity to try out a new bronzer I've heard rave reviews about; Nars Laguna Bronzer! I'm going to get it on my lunch break so I'll let you guys know next week how I like it!

I saw this Rebecca Minkoff bag featured on Lauren Conrad's website and instantly fell in love with the shape, size and colour(s). It's also relativley inexpensive..as far as designer handbags go...$195. Perhaps when I get a new job this can be my congrautlations gift to myself!?

On Sunday I went for brunch with my friend Tamara to a cute little organic cafe called Farm.
This restaurant solely supports local suppliers from around Alberta, who deliver their products right to the front doors of the restaurant {so you know everything is going to be deliciously fresh!} This restaurant also has classic, farm, modern chic decor which we both loved. With big wood tables and classic chandeliers. I think my favorite of all were the cute tea cups and collector spoons!

I HATE to say it....but this movie was amazing! I'm not a Tom Cruise fan at all {I find him extreamly irritating in real life!} But, on Saturday night Jon dragged me to see this and I loved it! We saw it at the IMAX...{which I think might be the only way to see an action packed movie} and it felt as if we were in the movie! The action scene were amazing, Tom Curise was actually really good and I found myself at times gasping in shock and suspense...! I suggest you all go see it!

And of course... the Rachel Roy ankle booties. Enough said.

an unnecessary lunch time purchase....

Well...it's a weekday...which means....I'm browsing the mall on my lunch break.... {I need a new job that's not attached to the mall...immediately!} Anyways, I need a new pair of shoes for work....my Michael Kors pumps {here} and {here} are getting a little worn down...{I wear them everyday}. And I've looked in pretty much every shoe store out there and cannot make a decision. I'm drawn to plain black pumps....{boring!} or super crazy summer and spring shoes that are not practical right now.  So randomly {again} I wondered into Le Chateau {they are having shoe sale right now}...and instantly gravitated toward a suede and patent leather wedge pump in cranberry! I don't know why but I loved them! They fit perfect and are surprisingly very comfortable...and the best part?  50% OFF!  SOLD!  I love them, and I'm super excited about wearing them! I say this was an unnecessary purchase due to the little fact that in about a month I will be laid off...and it probably wasn't the most money smart decision....but a girls gotta have new shoes!*

Wedge Pump: was $99 $49.99 on sale Le Chateau

Rachel Roy....

Rachel Roy....

So today on my lunch break I went browsing through the mall...{as I do every lunch break...} I randomly wandered into the Bay to see what the Top Shop section had to offer...and I got sidetracked by the Rachel Roy Spring Shoe Collection! Just like her clothes, her shoes are fun, bright and dramatic! {I instantly fell in love with the hot pink and tan ankle booties with the orange heel shown above} Her clothes are on the more expensive side, but I found her shoes do reasonably priced! Most are under $100 and a few are around the $120-$150 range! Above are a few of my favorites...but you can view the whole collection {here}. I think I'm going to be tempted to purchase the booties with my next pay check...!*

and the nominees are....

The 2012 Academy Award Nominees were announced early this morning!  I don't know about you, but I anticipate this every year! I love the Oscars for so many reasons! Obviously the red carpet fashion is the #1 reason I watch, but I love the intensity of it all....hoping your favorite movie, actor or actress will win! The speeches I can take or leave! For the past few years my friends and I have had Oscar parties. We print off the nominee list...make our picks prior to the show...and pool some money together! Whoever has the most correct at the end of the show wins! {I won last year!} It makes the show 100 times more interesting! Now that the nominees are out, I have to get renting some movies so I can accurately make my picks...!

Ombre...ombre...ombre!

When I go home in February, I made a much needed appointment with my hair dresser! {I've tried other stylists here in Calgary, but I just don't feel comfortable} So I'm super excited to change it up a bit! I've been growing my hair for the past 8 months...and I think it's long enough now to try ombre hair colouring! I by no means want anything drastic and overly obvious. I want it to look subtle and natural. Here are a few example of what I'm thinking of and looking for...!

I like the idea of lightening the bottom....

My hair right now is pretty much this dark..so either this colour or Leighton Meesters' colouring would be perfect
