2011 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show!*

I've been watching the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show since high school! I get so excited for it every year! My best friend and I text/call each other literally as each model is walking out and swoon over the amazing pieces! {which seems to get better an better each year!} Miranda Kerr is by far the most gorgeous of them all and looked amazing for just having a baby! Kanye, Maroon 5, Jay-Z and Nikki Minaj did amazing, but I'm still in love with Justin Timberlake's 2007 performance, that was classic! Below are a few of my favorites from last night! Did you watch this year?*

The Holidays*: Christmas Tree Time!

This past weekend we experienced our first Chinook {basically when warm winds come in off the mountains and warm up the air}. We went from -28 to +10 basically overnight, and the whole city was in a wind storm lockdown!  It was crazy! But becuase of the pressure changes I've been getting crazy migraines that last for a few days...So Monday I took a half sick day and slept all afternoon {sorry, no outfit of the day}. When I woke up we decided to go get our Christmas Tree!!! {I know it's early but we couldn't resist!}  The YMCA is selling trees for charity this year, $4 a foot! So naturally we decided on a 10 foot tree for our 9 foot ceiling apartment! {needless to say we took a little off the top and bottom!}  But it fits beautifully, and I'm so excited to go home tonight and decorate it!  I put the lights up lastnight and Jon sprayed some fake snow on it!  It's looking good!  But for now, here are some picture of us strapping the tree to the roof of the Jeep!*

Koda's a Star!*

Happy weekend everyone! The Fluffington Post is one of the cutest blogs!  People are able to submit adorable and hilarious photos of their pets and the blog will upload them for everyones viewing pleasure!  So of course I had to submit photos of Ta'Koda....and this morning....he was added to the site!  The photo they chose {I sent in 4} is a photo Jon took during one of the first days he had him!  Take a look {Ta'Koda}!*

I also took 'The Star' to one of the largest off leash dog parks in Calgary this afternoon! It was such a warm and sunny day, he had a blast playing with his disc, eatting left over snow and playing with other puppies!*

Outfit of the Day: Polka Dots

The weather in Calgary has warmed up quite a bit! {is -1 warm?} So today {Thursday} I decided I could get away with wearing my favorite Polka Dot dress to work to as long a I wore nylons {and boots for the commute}!*

Dress - Ya Los Angeles: $79 Purr Clothing or Ya Los Angeles
Talula Exeter Blazer: $125 Aritzia
Michael Kors Shoes: $150 Browns Shoes

Outfit of the Day: Pink Flowers

I've decided to start posting "Outfits of the Day". Recently I've been having a lot of issues getting ready for work in the morning. I feel everything I own that is "business casual" doesn't fit me right or looks weird. Every job I've ever had before this one I've had to wear a uniform, I use to loath it. But now I secretly miss it! Since unifroms were a staple in my life for the past 10 years my wardrobe has become very casual {except for the essential going out dresses and rompers}. Trying to figure out what to wear everyday has taken me back to those stressful mornings of high school where you felt you needed to dress to impress. At least in University you could get away wearing Lulu's and hoodies everyday. I'm hoping by posting my weekday outfits I can get some feeback from you guys on what looks good and what I should probably never wear again!*

Yesterday {Wednesday} I could not for the life of me get a decent photo of my outfit {I think I need a better camera and a larger mirror}. Anyways, so for the sake of the post I created a set on Ployvore to show you what I wore because I really liked it!*

Our First Car!

Calgary is like a small town in a "big" city. Everything is very spread out and far away from eachother, getting places and running everyday errands, like grocery shopping, becomes a chore that takes twice as long as it should. For the past 5 months we have managed getting places using Calgary Transit. It's been tolerable since the weather has been great!  But....it's starting to snow and the average temperature these days is -5 and getting colder {brrrr}. We really wanted to cut our errand time down to a minimum, avoid taking taxis home and get out of the city to enjoy the mountains in the winter whenever we want!...So this past Monday we purchased a Jeep Patriot!*

5 Favorite Things...

Five Favorite Things...!

Five Favorite Things...! by vodka-caviar

Now that I have an office job, 90% of my wardrobe has to be 'business casual' which I am not a fan of.  I find business casual clothing uncomfortable to wear and difficult to pick out.  I was never a fan of Zara, but now that I have to wear a certain type of clothing to work I have really warmed up to the store!  I always find amazing work approved clothing with a trendy and unique twist that I can wear to work and also outside of work...which is a huge bonus!  Here a my top 5 finds this week at Zara!*

Zara polka dot shirt
$60 - zara.com

Zara blazer
$189 - zara.com

Zara vest

Zara short pants

Stuff You'll Love!

You'll Love: Slatkin & Co Candles
Whenever I pick up and magazine I {like every other girl on this planet} find myself drooling over the expensive products they recommend you buy. Sometimes I cave and buy them. But most of the time I opt for the less expensive but equally satisfying alternative. So I thought I would post the products I love and that I buy on a regular basis.  These are all things I think are worth spending your time and hard earned money on, and I think you will love as well!

Since moving into our apartment I have really embraced the decorating experience. I've found myself wondering into home store that I would never have gone into prior to us moving here. I've loved being able to envision an idea and create and style our apartment the way we want it. I have slo become obsessed with candles. I find them an easy way to add ambiance and style to a room, while adding subtle and refreshing scents.

Bath & Body Works carries a home fragrance line called Slatkin & Co. They make great smelling products at really affordable prices. And since it is sold at Bath & Body works you can count on amazing sales and promotions! {I recently purchased two 14.5oz candles for $25}. Personally, I only purchase the candles {I feel air fresheners are too over-powering for the size of our aparatment} but all air fresheners are available in the same scents as the candles and are also frequently on sale. There are so many unique scents to choose from {here}, especially during the holiday months. My favorites are S'more and Cranberry Pear Bellini for everyday use, Winter and Tis' The Season for the holidays!

The larger 14.5oz candles are three-wicked and burn approximatley 40-65 hours! The smaller 4oz candles have one wick and will last approximately 25-40 hours!  What I also like about these candles is they actually but for that amount of time. {I recently purchased a Glade candle that stated a 60 hours burn time and lasted maybe 15}. Each candle is created exclusivley by Harry Slatkin and Home Frangrance Experts and use a blend of begetable wax and lead-free wicks to optimize the life of the candle.

You can puchase these candles and other Slatkin & Co products exclusivley at Bath & Body Works!*

S'more: $19.50 Bath & Body Works

Tis' The Season: $9.50 Bath & Body Works
