WORK IT!

I quickly mentioned earlier that I've been trying to hit the gym harder to get "Vegas Ready". I'm not one that really cares what I look like at the gym...but I do like to invest in work out clothes and equipment that can endure hours and repeated use. I recently purchased these Nike Run +3 shoes and I cannot say enough how amazingly comfortable they are. I instantly saw the difference in the length of my runs just by switching from New Balance to these Nikes {$100}.  For pants I like to wear a running crop in a Dri-FIT material that wicks away sweat and keeps you cool, Nike and Lululemon carry great options. On top I'm not too picky, usually whatever is clean at the time {haha} but I have invested in a Dri-FIT Lululemon Running top which I love, as well as a few standard tanks and bras. My favorite bras are Nike, they fit perfectly, not too tight and not too loose, I find Lululemon bras are tight and cause pain in my shoulders?! What are your workout must haves? Do you have a workout style!?*

Easter Eggs!

Easter is just around the corner I can't believe it! We are heading out of town this year to a condo in Banff so I'm not going to do too much decorating. But my favorite part of Easter as a kid was obviously the Easter egg hunt, but I loved and still do love decorating Easter eggs! I was always trying to find creative and unique ways to make my Easter eggs look amazing....adding glitter, using wax to draw and write, using tape to create stripes and zig zags, thanks to Pinterest {follow me here} I found these amazing ideas to make your Easter eggs stand out! What techniques do you use to make your Easter eggs different?!*

I'm beyond excited! I've never been to Vegas and I've always made "tentative" plans to go and obviously never followed through! 4 days of laying in the dessert sun sipping margaritas with my best friend and my sister, can't wait!*

Stuff You'll Love!

You'll Love: Kiehl's Pineapple Papaya Facial Scrub

Whenever I pick up and magazine I {like every other girl on this planet} find myself drooling over the expensive products they recommend you buy. Sometimes I cave and buy them. But most of the time I opt for the less expensive but equally satisfying alternative. So I thought I would post the products I love and that I buy on a regular basis. These are all things I think are worth spending your time and hard earned money on, and I think you will love as well!

As you know from previous posts, I have very sensitive skin and need to you all hypo-allergenic and natural products on my face, every so often I will wander into Kiehl's to see what products they have to assist a problem I maybe experiencing at the time. One day I purchased their Pineapple Papaya Facial Scrub about a year ago to help manage the dry areas on my face and to help with even make-up application. I really noticed a difference after 2 or 3 uses. This scrub is not harsh like many exfoliators can be and I usually use it as a mask rather than a scrub {which is what the sales lady suggested to do}. This exfoliator is suitable for all skin types and utilizes small pieces of actual pineapple and papaya fruit as well as finely ground scrub grains to help exfoliate your skin gently and naturally.

Pineapple Papaya Facial Scrub: $36

For the best way to use the product and to gain as many benefits as possible follow the below directions:
1. Dampen your face {I normally use in the shower}
2. Use about a pea sized amount {2 pea sizes if you want to treat your neck} on your fingers and start to massage your face. Target the problem areas of your face {for me it's my T-Zone and around my nose}
3. Leave on for 10 - 15 minutes
4. Rinse with warm water and pat dry!

After you rinse the product off you will find that your skin maybe tight (but in a goo way!} clean, and glowing. Apply your normal moisturizer!*

the 20/20 experience....

Today is the day! JT's new album is FINALLY released after 10 years of waiting! 10 years! That's insane! I also feel very old considering I LOVED Futruelove/Sexsounds and listened to it non-stop from 2nd year university onward, and can basically recall every memory I ever had based on which song is playing. I was worried when Suit & Tie was release because I couldn't get into it at all...but then again Umbrella by Rihanna was one of the most irritating songs I ever heard but  fell in love after the 200th play.  Through all the publicity JT has done in the past few weeks for this album {SNL...Jimmy Fallon} I really started to love the new singles and I'm beyond excited to get onto ITunes to get the new album..... have you got the 20/20 experience yet?*

Changes..*

Changes. There have been A LOT of them lately. Where to start? I guess I'll tackle the biggest change I've made, I QUIT MY JOB. Yes...in two weeks I will be unemployed {hopefully not for long...but still unemployed}. When we first moved to Calgary I was not in any position to be picky with employment. I needed a job and I needed one quick! Luckily, I landed two great EA {executive assistant} positions with awesome benefits, weekend and holidays off and flex friday's.... two years have passed, and I don't feel fulfill, satisified or at all happy. Needless to say I felt trapped...trapped in a job because of money and benefits. I'm 26 {soon to be 27} and I didn't like this feeling, the feeling of being so far removed from my support system and working an unfulfilling job in a city I'm not totally in love with.  After MANY hours/months of back and fourth...I decided {with support from my awesome bf of course} that quitting my job, taking some time off and figuring out what is best for me {and my mental health!}is the best decision I could make for me {and my relationship}.  Maybe my whole perspective on the city will change and we won't move back to Ontario come June... you never know until you try! I have to say....after I resigned a HUGE weight was lifted and I felt like there was an end to the unhappiness and a start to finding something I LOVE in Calgary.

and finally...a not so serious change....!*
