CMA Awards Best Dressed

Well it's award season again! And the CMA Awards aired last night! I taped it because I need to skip through the boring speeches, the terrible performances and Taylor Swift. So today I'm just going to post about the best dressed! Carrie Underwood takes the #1 spot. She looked stunning on the red carpet. Normally her hair and makeup are amazing but I don't really love her dress choices. I'm not a huge ball gown lover and I feel she tends to choose those for the red carpet, so I'm so happy to see she went for something much more figure flattering and on trend. I also cannot get over her legs. I WISH I had legs like hers....#jealous. Her outfit choices for the actual awards show however.....not so great. But her LEGS.... gah! Anyways below are my top picks from the night!*

Ralph & Russo with Jimmi Choo Shoes

Robert Cavalli
Miranda was also a top pick! She looks STUNNING in this electric blue gown. She has lost some weight, slimmed down and chose a very flattering dress. Good for her because she normally looks kind of trashy {in my opinion}. I feel like her hair should be up in a low bun....to show off the dresses neck line...?!

Georges Chakra
Stunning! And I'm so glad her hair has finally grown back! And she looks like she has put on some weight since her Dancing with the Stars days, I think she looks amazing! She was too skinny before!

Naeem Khan
Jennifer Nettles was on the worst dressed list but I really like this drop waist gown! I think she looks amazing for just having a baby not too long ago! I love the beading on the top and the tulle skirt on the bottom I would choose this dress in a heart beat! And her makeup looks great, I feel she is missing something maybe a clutch but details...

Country Music Awards!

So the 48th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards aired on Sunday night and I missed it... BUT was able to watch it on Monday and was mesmerized by the amazing performances. I normally fast forward through the bad performances and long speeches, but I didn't even think of pressing that button during this one. It was a star-studded night with performances by Blake Shelton, Carrie Underwood, Tim McGraw, Brad Paisley, Taylor Swifts, Miranda Lambert, Keith Urban, Band Perry, Luke Bryan....the list goes on. Here are my favorite performances of the night!*

Miranda Lambert - Mama's Broken Heart

Carrie Underwood - Two Black Cadillacs

Luke Bryan - Crash my Party
{i fell in love with him during this!}

Hunter Hayes - I Want Crazy

Fashion Winners @ the Oscars*

It was slim pickings at this years Academy Awards, I wasn't totally blown away by anyone this year!  The Fashion Police on E! voted Jennifer Lawrance best dressed, and I have to disagree. I loved the backwards necklace {I've always loved that style} but I thought her dress was too bridal, not a dress for an Oscar winner, if it was a difference colour....maybe black I think it would have been stunning.

Here are my top 5 picks for best dressed at the Oscars!*

Stacy Keibler always stunning....very statuesque!
Designer, Naeem Khan

I loved loved loved the back of this dress....! You don't even realize shes pregnant until she turns sideways...
She looks stunning!

Jenna Dewan Tatum in Rachael Roy

Naomi Watts amazing in metallic sparkle Armani Prive.
I love the cut of the top of the dress very flattering on her

Charlize Theron beautiful in Dior.
My favorite is the sparkle on the Peplum

Amy Adams in Darren Le Gallo
To me, this is what an Oscar winner/nominee should wear

Sunday Night at the Oscars*

So last night was the 84th Annual Academy Awards, and I obviously planned my whole day around preparing our Oscar party for 2, watching the red carpet and of course the awards! It's been a tradition with my friends for the past few years to order chinese food, fill out our ballots and pool together any spare change/gift cards as a prize!  Since I'm across the country this year, Jon and I had our own Oscar party! We filled out ballots {which I won}, made crab-cakes and cupcakes and drank Skinny Girl Margaritas and wine!

Having DVR definitely comes in handy when watching award shows that are as long as the Oscars are! Fast forwarding through all the red carpet commentary and speeches you aren't necessarily interested in makes watching so much better! I thought Billy Crystal was hilarious! He always does such a great job! And E! News also did an awesome job at reporting form the red carpet...! I wasn't overly impressed with the looks last night, but the ladies that nailed it looked classic and chic...very Academy Awards appropriate. Here are my favorite looks form last night!

Penelope Cruz in Armani

Maya Rudolph in Johanna Johnson

Milla Jovovich in Ellie Saab
{my #1 choice}

Stacey Keibler in Marchesa

Michelle Williams in Louis Vuitton
{loved the coral colour}

Cameron Diaz  in Gucci

Missi Pyle in an eco-friendly dress

Giuliana Rancic in Tony Ward Couture
{this would have been my #1 but I think she looks too skinny, but the dress is stunning}

And the Grammy goes to.....*

So last night was the 54th Grammy Awards...and after waiting an extra 3 hours for it to air on the west coast, I was happily surprised! I thought it was well done! {I could have done without Chris Brown's lip syncing performance and Grammy win}. I also thought the producers of the show did a wonderful job paying tribute to the recent passing of the legendary Whitney Houston. Everything that was said and done was respectful and classy, and it was hard to watch her closest friends fight back the tears on the red carpet. But the show must go on I suppose!

I'm so happy for Adele! Winning a total of 6 awards! That girl deserves it 100%! Her performance was flawless, only solidifying why she deserves these 6 awards! {and I was secretly happy when she beat out Taylor Swift...!} For a complete list of the winners from last night click here!

Worst Performance(s) of the night....Maroon 5, Foster the People and the Beach Boys....it was painful to watch and of course Chris Brown, but that's a given.

Best Performance(s): ADELE obviously! Rihanna and Coldplay! For some reason I loved Katy Perry's new song Part of Me, the whole performance was just one huge dig at Russel Brand and I kind of loved it and loved her for doing it! And I think Bruno Mars killed it!

Anyways, I thought everyone looked stunning last night on the red carpet a few misses *cough* Nikki Minaj...a little too weird for me! But, here are my favorite looks from the night!

Rihanna took my #1 spot! She looked smokin' good! I really have nothing more to say about this look!

I wish I had seen the back of Carrie Underwood's dress on the red carpet. But I thought she looked flawless as usual!

I actually loved Fergie's look....It's the Grammy's! If I had her body, I would wear this too!

I'm happy Katy Perry chose a more mature, put together look for her post-divorce debut! I think she looked stunning!

And of course Adele looked like perfection in her head to toe sparkle! Queen's deserve a lot of sparkle! Her makeup was flawless! I love her exaggerated eyes...

and the nominees are....

The 2012 Academy Award Nominees were announced early this morning!  I don't know about you, but I anticipate this every year! I love the Oscars for so many reasons! Obviously the red carpet fashion is the #1 reason I watch, but I love the intensity of it all....hoping your favorite movie, actor or actress will win! The speeches I can take or leave! For the past few years my friends and I have had Oscar parties. We print off the nominee list...make our picks prior to the show...and pool some money together! Whoever has the most correct at the end of the show wins! {I won last year!} It makes the show 100 times more interesting! Now that the nominees are out, I have to get renting some movies so I can accurately make my picks...!
