Country Music Awards!

So the 48th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards aired on Sunday night and I missed it... BUT was able to watch it on Monday and was mesmerized by the amazing performances. I normally fast forward through the bad performances and long speeches, but I didn't even think of pressing that button during this one. It was a star-studded night with performances by Blake Shelton, Carrie Underwood, Tim McGraw, Brad Paisley, Taylor Swifts, Miranda Lambert, Keith Urban, Band Perry, Luke Bryan....the list goes on. Here are my favorite performances of the night!*

the 20/20 experience....

Today is the day! JT's new album is FINALLY released after 10 years of waiting! 10 years! That's insane! I also feel very old considering I LOVED Futruelove/Sexsounds and listened to it non-stop from 2nd year university onward, and can basically recall every memory I ever had based on which song is playing. I was worried when Suit & Tie was release because I couldn't get into it at all...but then again Umbrella by Rihanna was one of the most irritating songs I ever heard but  fell in love after the 200th play.  Through all the publicity JT has done in the past few weeks for this album {SNL...Jimmy Fallon} I really started to love the new singles and I'm beyond excited to get onto ITunes to get the new album..... have you got the 20/20 experience yet?*

...Phillip Phillips

So...I honestly have not watched American Idol since maybe the Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood seasons, and the occasional audition episode {because those are hilarious}. But a few weeks ago there was nothing else on and I randomly flipped to this seasons American Idol....and died when Phillip Phillips performed "Hard to Handle" by the Black Crowes on the Top 11 show. He instantly reminded me of Dave Matthews {who... if you don't already know is my husband}. His style, sound, the way he holds his guitar and even the way he stands and presents himself on stage is a spitting image of Dave Matthews. So because of this, I have become obsessed with American Idol! All of the contestants in this season, I think, have amazing voices and talent. But being a musician and passionate about the music and putting the music first is true talent, and in my bias opinion, Phillip should WIN!!*

Friday Night...Country Night!

Friday night was AMAZING! We had so much fun at the Lady A concert! We had perfect seats right at the end of the stage...and no one sat beside us {which is ideal for dancing purposes!} Jon isn't really into country music, but I love it so he was excited and happy to go with me and gave it a shot!

I was most excited to see Darius Rucker! This is the 3rd time I've seen him and he kills it every time! He's so full of energy and sounds amazing, and the best part is he mixes his country music with classic Hootie and the Blowfish songs....it's so fun!

I was kind of worried about Lady A's set, just because their newest CD that their touring is a fairly slow album...BUT... I did not stop dancing the whole show! They played a few slow songs, but the majority was upbeat, energetic and fun!

I love going to a concert and the artists sound just like they do on their album, or better! It makes the concert so much more enjoyable and worth the money! If you ever have the chance to see either of these two artists live....I highly suggest going! It's such a good time!*
